Sensor Enhanced Ventilation

This technology update uses sensors to monitor air pressure, temperature, and other air factors inside a house. Sensor-driven vents are installed on the floors, walls, and ceilings to allow controlled room temperature management. The system can be controlled using a mobile phone application adding to accountability and precision. This innovation is successfully tested and is already in the market.

Dual-Fuel Heat Pumps

HVAC manufacturers came up with this alteration in the typical heat pump by incorporating oil or gas furnaces in the heat pump system. The addition is based on the notion that heat pumps work more efficiently when running on a combination of fuels. In the case of dual heat pumps, electricity and gas are combined to run the heat pump. These pumps are connected with a gas furnace, which may seem heavy on the wallet initially but save money in the long run.

Geothermal Heat Pumps

This one here is not a recent technological development and was recognized as an efficient renewable energy technology in the 1940s. Although it gained popularity only recently and is now being widely adopted in residential and commercial properties.

Geothermal heat pumps act as a source of heating, cooling, and hot water. These pumps do not run on fuel combustion. Instead, they utilize naturally available heat from the ground. In winters, they transfer heat stored in the earth to the connected building and transmit heat the same way back to the ground during summers, making the environment cool and pleasant. Excessive heat from the geothermal heat pump’s compressor is transferred to the hot water tank, acting as a hot water source.

Harnessing Heat from Computers and Laptops

Recently it was realized that computers generate large amounts of heat when used for an extended time and can be utilized to power other heating systems. Considered as an efficient heat source, researchers believe that much of the heat generated by computers could be harnessed for further use, offering an added source of energy to users.

Fully-automated homes

Smart homes are already a reality today with home automation systems controlling various features like lighting, climate, entertainment, security, etc. However, not all appliances and areas are automated, and research is being conducted to transform the whole house into a smart zone for enhanced comfort and convenience.

Homeowners who are interested in having technological advancements in their home can connect with a seasoned HVAC service provider to keep abreast of the latest products available in their area market.
